Publisher Letter: The Best Is Yet To Come
It’s August in Orlando, and that can only mean one thing; it’s time to release the results of the 2023 Best of ORL voting this past Spring.

Best is hard to define. What is best? Is it exemplary service, exceptional encounters, consistency, familiarity, or something more? Ralph Waldo Emerson said “make the most of yourself–for that is all there is of you” and it’s hard not to agree with that idea. To me, best is a feeling, and one I singularly feel in the City Beautiful and around its many communities. And it is the residents of those communities who truly make this place we call home best. Orlando is a friendly city, filled with some of the most wonderful people you’ll ever meet. We are honored to tell those stories each and every month for nearly seventy-eight years. Our thanks to the residents of Orlando and Central Florida at-large, who help us continue to see the best in everything.

Each year we ask you, our readers, who the best of the best should be in over 100 categories. Over 350,000 votes were received, and we heard you loud and clear. Local joints like Crooked Can Brewery (Best Brewery) and Orange Cycle (Best Bicycle Shop) won big in their respective categories. Find out who else won starting on page 23. This year we’re also pleased to present our Hall of Fame in Law, Medicine, and Dentistry. Our inductees have the distinction of being recommended by their peers in their respective fields a minimum of five times over the years.
