Food & Drink: Sugar Factory Spring Menu Review

From killer grilled cheese sammies to Cookie Monster-themed milkshakes, Sugar Factory is the spot for something delicious at ICON Park.

Sugar Factory 1

The Sugar Factory, known for its celebrity following and over-the-top sweets, is a fun and unique way to spend an afternoon. Located in the ICON Park entertainment complex there’s plenty of other activities close by to make a day of it.

THE VIBE

The interior of the café has a glam vibe with its beautiful chandeliers, decorative ceilings and plenty of good photo opportunities.

If you came thirsty they have a vast drink menu with options to suit any taste- many come in a giant goblet about as big as a fish bowl. You can choose the alcoholic version or its non-alcoholic counterpart. Can’t finish it? No problem! Whatever you don’t drink they’ll give you to go.

Don’t let the name fool you – Sugar Factory has a robust menu from burgers and pasta to steak and lobster with plenty of appetizers-  but make sure to save room for dessert.

WHAT WE TRIED

Sugar Factory 3

Grilled Cheese with Signature Fries

We opted to eat light and went with the California Veggie Burger which had an all-natural vegan patty, melted provolone cheese, sliced avocado, lettuce, tomato, crispy onions and herb mayo served on a toasted brioche bun. We also tried the Grilled Cheese Sandwich which was griddled to perfection made with artisan white bread and aged cheddar cheese served with their signature fries.

We loved the California Veggie Burger with Signature Fries!

Now it was time for what we came for – the insane milkshakes. We opted for the Nutella Banana Milkshake made with vanilla ice cream blended with Nutella and banana chunks topped with a chocolate dipped banana, whipped cream, unicorn lollipop, and candy necklace served in a chocolate covered mug with rainbow sprinkles. Along with the Cookie Monster Make a Wish Milkshake made with cookies and cream ice cream blended with vanilla sauce, topped with shipped cream blue glazed donut, chocolate chip cookie and a blue frosted cupcake. It was served in a chocolate mug with chocolate chip chunks. Whatever you choose you’ll have a hard time finishing it!

If you came with a group or just feeling adventurous you’ll want to try the World Famous Sugar Factory King Kong Sundae which serves 12. Each time this over the top extravaganza comes out of the kitchen the lights go low, the music goes up and you can feel the excitement and anticipation in the room. With 24 scoops of ice cream covered in every topping, sauce and sugary delight you can think of, plus the lighted sparklers on top, it’s an experience not to be missed!
