For a chic and sumptuous brunch, look no further than AVA MediterrAegean.

AVA MediterrAegean wants to transform the way people experience dining by combining the essence of Mediterranean and Aegean cultures, design, and cuisines to offer the most elevated dining experience in a vibrant and spirited atmosphere. And by all accounts they’ve succeeded. The Winter Park gem has been open just over a year and is the darling of Park Avenue.

They’ve recently added Brunch to their offerings which you can experience on Saturday and Sundays from 11 am to 3:30 pm and we had the opportunity to visit recently.

Guests will marvel at the beautiful décor in earth tones with a mix of seating styles and elegant bar. As intended, the unique space pays homage to the simple spirit of Cycladic design and immediately transports you from Park Avenue to the islands of Greece.

WHAT WE TRIED

The Starters

To begin our brunch experience, we started with the Greek spreads which allowed us to sample the hummus, baba ganoush and tzatziki, served with garden vegetables and warm pita. They were all delicious – it was hard to decide which one we liked best! Not to worry if you find yourself with spread but nothing left to spread it on, they’ll keep coming with those small boxes of warm pita until you’ve been able to enjoy it all.  We also tried the mini pastry basket which includes a croissant, Swiss bread, chocolate croissant and raisin swirl.

The Main Course

For the main course we enjoyed the waffle! AVA’s waffles come smothered in a mix of fresh blueberries, raspberries, blackberries and strawberries. They are also drizzled in Greek honey with a side of yogurt. We also tried the vegetarian version of the eggs benedict with spinach and hollandaise sauce. Pro Tip: add a side of crispy marble potatoes to share. The last entrée we sampled was the eggs shakshuka. This popular dish features a poached egg in a hearty tomato sauce with red bell pepper. It’s seasoned with cumin and paprika plus plenty more of the delicious warm pita on the side.
