Windermere Preparatory School
Virtus, Veritas, Unitas; Integrity, Courage and Unity
Twenty-two years ago, Windermere Preparatory School was founded by a group of people who believed that education should, and could, be different. They saw the need for a private institution in Southwest Orlando and sought to create a place where community was celebrated.
Two founders got together and drew the crest for the school on a napkin, drawing the words virtus, veritas, unitas; integrity, courage, and unity. This crest still stands strong on the Laker campus. Even their mascot, Butler, was born in 2000, with a Lake Cypress legend being written by their students that first year.
The mission of Windermere Prep is to provide a learning environment where students are equipped to grow, learn, and develop into global leaders and thinkers. They seek to build a community built on integrity, courage, and unity to prepare their students for university and beyond.
