Vascular Specialists of Central Florida

When choosing a physician, patients face pressing concerns on multiple fronts. Will they receive expert care? Will the treatment plan be in their best interests? Will it be a ordable? And can they receive treatment while avoiding exposure to COVID?

In the wake of rising healthcare costs and threats from COVID, the board-certified specialists at Vascular Specialists of Central Florida are uniquely equipped to serve their patients electively, a ordably, compassionately and safely. The practice’s six surgeons focus specifically on vascular and vein issues.

Board-certified vascular surgeons are “the only specialists who spend the entirety of our specialty training centered around the treatment of vascular disease,” says Dr. Jon Wesley. “It is our sole purpose. It’s the reason we’re here.” In addition, as the oldest and largest private vascular surgery group in Central Florida, the practice is able to maintain a patient-forward focus that minimizes costs. The focus remains on treating the individual with the best, safest and most affordable care, according to Dr. Charles Thompson.

The group, which has four o ces serving six counties, also takes every precaution to protect its patients from exposure to COVID by o ering safe venues for care. “We have a liations with ambulatory surgery centers, and we have an outpatientbased lab where a lot of minimally invasive procedures can be performed. Patients can come to the office, have a procedure
performed and go home literally in a matter of hours,” Dr. Wesley says.

But the practice’s patient-fi st philosophy means the team offers care in the most challenging of situations. “In those instances when the patients most need us, we’ve been able to provide care for some of the sickest patients in the hospitals with regard to their vascular needs and the unique vascular emergencies that have arisen because of COVID,” Dr. Thompson says.

“We’re good stewards of the community,” Dr. Thompson continues. “All of us have families. All of us have deep-seated roots in Central Florida and in the state of Florida. All of us feel a very strong commitment to the needs of the Central Florida patients, and all of us are deeply committed to Orlando.”

We believe in and live by those three words found on our crest.

Unitas

There is a unique and special feeling on campus – it is a feeling of unity, community, and home. We call it Laker Pride and it draws you in. I noticed it from my fi rst interview with students to the present day. We celebrate our community and enjoy being with each other, from our youngest Lakers to our soon to be alumni Lakers. Windermere Preparatory School is an incredibly diverse and international community, welcoming families from over seventy countries. This medley compels us towards unity and community.

Veritas

We pursue truth and encourage students to learn how to learn. A Windermere Preparatory School education begins by activating the curiosity and imagination of our younger learners and culminates in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP). Our students are challenged, motivated, and encouraged to explore, create, and innovate.

Virtus

Courage, valor, character, or worth – regardless of how you understand virtus, it connotes purpose, intentionality, and honor. We celebrate doing things the right way at Windermere
Preparatory School by serving our local and global community through our annual Lakerthon event, local food drives, and work in Tanzania.

I am proud, impressed and motivated by our crest. I hope you are too. When you walk on the campus, meet the people, hear stories of growth, and, most importantly, observe the students, you are drawn into the “Laker Way.” We truly believe that everyone should be empowered to be ambitious, to try new things, to explore, and to become better versions of themselves.
