Rebecca Leis, Ph.D. is a Program Director at Full Sail University overseeing the Computer Science Bachelor of Science – Mobile Development Concentration, Computer Science Master of Science, and User Experience Bachelor of Science degree programs. In her role, she continues to build new hands-on educational opportunities for current and future Full Sail University students alongside the education department and senior leadership.
Managing a team of over 50 educators, Dr. Leis regularly evaluates the effectiveness of the programs that she oversees, while creating strategic plans for innovative programs. Dr. Leis aids leadership in organizing, mapping, and monitoring curriculum components to ensure students are receiving an immersive and project-based education that is reflective of the industries they want to enter.
Recently, Dr. Leis aided in the launch and deployment of three new Full Sail University emerging technologies degree programs – Computer Science Master of Science, User Experience Bachelor of Science, as well as the Computer Science Bachelor of Science Mobile Development and Artificial Intelligence (AI) concentrations.
In addition to furthering degree program opportunities at Full Sail University, Dr. Leis played an instrumental role in the grand opening of the “Full Sail University Fitness Technology Lab Powered by Echelon Fit.” This on-campus lab environment allows students across Full Sail University’s emerging technologies-focused degree programs to participate in innovative research initiatives centered on enhancing existing Echelon equipment and features, as well as the development and implementation of new features for different Echelon product lines. For this partnership, Dr. Leis serves as a liaison between the university and Echelon Fitness, so the students have access to work on real-world projects that align with their current studies. Through Dr. Leis’ work as an educator at Full Sail University, she is helping to feed the talent pipeline necessary to fuel the significant growth in the emerging technologies industries.
