Pampering with Style
Cash, a Papillon mix, goes in for a green dye job. Luna the Maltese prefers a different color treatment each time she visits. Whatever the grooming therapy—be it bath, nail trimming and polish, or deep coat conditioning—the happy dogs that frequent Magic Pets Grooming Salon & Spa usually can’t wait for their appointments, says groomer Samantha Rosado, daughter of Magic Pets owner Erika Wernli. “We have two little dachshunds, Buck and Bubba, that scratch at the door to come inside. As soon as Baby Doodle (a golden Doodle) comes in, she jumps on the table,” Rosado says.
Wernli and Rosado always have been surrounded by animals, Wernli in her native Colombia; both mother and daughter here in Central Florida. The Magic Pets moniker reflects their philosophy that “pets have their own personalities, and we think they’re all magical.”
The eight-year-old grooming service wants to help pet owners keep their dogs clean, healthy and comfortable with services that include ear cleaning, brushing, trimming and more. Fancy dog fantasies? Dye jobs and temporary glitter tattoos are popular options, Rosado says. “My dog, Carmen—a Pit mix—gets heart tattoos all the time.” —Jennie Hess
