School Closings In Response To COVID-19
These schools and colleges have adjusted their hours, expanded Spring Break, or are moving to online classes.

Orange County Public Schools
Governor DeSantis announced that all schools will be closed to students until April 15. Remote or “distance learning” instruction will begin. State testing has also been cancelled this school year. With school not open to students until April 15, OCPS will begin “distance learning” Monday, March 30, for all students. Learn more!
Osceola County Public Schools
Osceola County Schools will be closed to students until April 15. The Osceola School District is preparing to transition to student digital learning starting the week of March 30. All resources for students and families will be available through the ClassLink platform, which students are familiar with using, on the district website, and can be accessed using any digital device (smartphone, laptop, desktop computer, or tablet).
Seminole County Public Schools
Seminole County Public School students will not return to campus until Wednesday, April 15. All statewide assessments have been cancelled this school year, and no school grades will be released for the 2019 – 2020 school year. Distance Learning for all students will begin on Monday, March 30. SCPS Students (Elementary, Middle, & High) who are currently eligible for and receive
Free or Reduced Lunch and are in need of a computer (laptop) for Distance Learning will be loaned a school district device. However, because our resources are limited, these devices are only for families who do not have a device for their child to work on at home. Laptop pick-up will begin on Monday, March 23 – Friday, March 27, from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the following (8) High School Locations: Hagerty, Lake Brantley, Lake Howell, Lake Mary, Lyman, Oviedo, Seminole, & Winter Springs. A parent or guardian signature will be required to pick-up a laptop. Laptops are for check-out only, with the expectation that they be returned to the school district. Picture identification from the parent/guardian will be required. The school will verify Free & Reduced Lunch status and identify during the check-out process. This process will adhere to current safety guidelines. No more than 10 people will be allowed in the distribution area at one time
Free Access to Spectrum Broadband & Wi-Fi
Charter Communications is offering FREE Spectrum broadband and Wi-Fi access for 60 days to households with K-12 and/or college students who do not already have a Spectrum broadband subscription at any service level up to 100 Mbps. To enroll call 1-844-488-8395. Installation fees will be waived for new student households. In addition, Charter will open its Wi-Fi hotspots across our footprint for public use.
Rollins College
Undergraduate (Residential and non-residential) Students in the College of Liberal Arts and Holt School:
On-campus classes will end on Friday, March 13, and will move to virtual, synchronous learning after spring break, beginning Monday, March 23. Classes will reconvene on their normal schedule, online as opposed to in person. When leaving campus for spring break, students should move out of their rooms and take their belongings home with them. If this proves an insurmountable hardship, provisions will be made to the extent possible to accommodate individual needs.The College anticipates issuing prorated refunds for housing and dining fees. Crummer Graduate School of Business
On-campus classes will end on Sunday, March 22, and will move to virtual, synchronous learning beginning Monday, March 23.
Faculty and Staff
The College remains open, as the work of educating our students and caring for those who remain on campus will continue without interruption. Faculty and staff may—and should—expect to work on campus as usual while following the health protocols the College has already put in place, based on Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines. The Alfond Sports Center and Olin Library will remain open for use, and Skillman Hall will continue to serve meals. Please contact your supervisor if you have special circumstances.
Seminole State College
All Seminole State College Campuses and physical facilities will remain closed to students and employees until March 30. Online classes and those transitioning from meeting on campus to a virtual/online format will resume on March 23. All College-sponsored events are cancelled until at least April 30.
UCF
A COVID-19 case has been confirmed at UCF. All classes have moved online through the summer A, C and D semesters, and students are asked not to return to campus. Essential campus operations are continuing, and most employees are asked to begin working remotely. Learn more about COVID-19’s impact at UCF.
Stetson
Saturday, March 14 was the last day for face-to-face classes for undergraduate and graduate students. In DeLand and Celebration, classes were canceled on Monday and Tuesday, March 16-17 to allow faculty and students to pause and prepare for the transition to online classes. In DeLand and Celebration, the normal class schedule resumed with remote instruction Wednesday, March 18. In Gulfport, all classes will resume on Monday, March 23, via remote instruction. All classes will continue in an online format through the end of the spring semester on all Stetson campuses. The university has not made a final decision on the handling of commencement and will continue to review and assess the situation, but will strive to provide a decision and announcement by March 31.
