A back-to-school physical should be on your checklist.

Summertime feels a little bit different this year – and going back to school might feel different, too! While we may not know exactly what’s in store for the next school session, there’s no better time than the present to make sure your kids are ready by having their required physicals.

GET YOUR CHILD AHEAD OF THE CLASS

If your child has missed his or her regular well visit or vaccination during the pandemic, now is the time to make sure they are up to date. Get ahead of the class by asking an AdventHealth children’s health navigator for help ensuring that your child has all the necessary health checks and immunizations to participate in school and sports and activities. Any child who is being enrolled in school for the first time in Florida must have proof that he or she has received a physical exam within the past year. Likewise, certain vaccinations are required for all kids entering Florida public schools at different levels, and your child’s back-to-school physical is the ideal time to get current on those shots.

HEALTH NAVIGATORS: ONE CALL DOES IT ALL

EmblemAs specially trained registered nurses, health navigators provide complimentary services to help coordinate your child’s overall care and answer any questions you may have. These services include:

• Answering questions about your and your family’s health care
• Finding a family medicine provider or pediatrician
• Helping schedule office visits, back to school physicals and screenings
• Providing resources and support for you and your family
• Coordinating care among multiple providers and facilities

NOTHING IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN YOU

All AdventHealth facilities are taking extra measures to keep you safe, including masks worn by visitors and staff, temperature checks, social distancing reminders, remote check-ins, and frequent sanitizing. So don’t put off making that doctor’s visit when it’s needed.
