As the new editor of Orlando magazine, every monthly issue is a revelation. I’ve learned many facts about my hometown, from Burger Brackets to the Best of ORL. Who knew there was a Peanut Butter Burger? Thanks to the Burger Issue, that is now on my bucket list.
It’s October, which means it’s time for our 50 Most Powerful issue. I can describe the selection process as daunting, which is why I’m relieved to have the support of such knowledgeable colleagues. If you want to know anything about our community, ask our Orlando magazine team; they have you covered.
For the second year in a row, U.S. Representative and Senate candidate Val Demings has made the number one spot on our list. We have a fascinating look at her past, the challenges she faces as she runs for the Senate seat, and a look at who inspires her work as a public servant.
We celebrate all the people who wake up every morning and do their best each day to make Orlando a city of inclusion, excellence, and growth. Our 50 Most Powerful list features politicians, business professionals, philanthropists, artists, sports professionals, educators, and entertainers. The newest addition to our list this year is “The Hall of Power,” a legacy list of those exceptional individuals who have spent their careers in service to the community.
