After kicking off its 10th anniversary celebration in October 2021, LEGOLAND Florida Resort debuts enhanced events, new attractions and a brand-new theme park geared towards its youngest fans this year.

The park’s newest attraction, The LEGOLAND Story, takes a deep dive into the origin story of everyone’s favorite brick. In this walk-through tour, guests learn about the Florida theme park built on the site of the former Cypress Gardens. With a nod to its predecessor, this attraction showcases an original vehicle from Cypress Gardens’ Triple Hurricane roller coaster. LEGO fans will also enjoy brick-by-brick storytelling of how other LEGOLAND Parks were built.

Playful, photo-worthy displays and an interactive Minifigure trading wall create lasting memories for LEGO lovers, while colorful, floor-to-ceiling graphics bring LEGO history to life. For some hands-on fun, guests can build alongside the Master Builders’ Workshop.

Making a splash at LEGOLAND in 2022, the Pirate River Quest launches as the park’s newest water ride later this year. This family-friendly treasure hunt invites guests to set sail with a rowdy crew of LEGO pirates that take them through the uncharted waters of the legendary Cypress Gardens and discover the secrets protecting its canals. On the captain’s orders, guests navigate the murky waters to retrieve the lost treasure, stolen by a group of mischievous monkeys.

And, of course, LEGOLAND favorites still draw fans of all ages, from the Flying School for preteens to the DUPLO Train for the toddler crowd to the Ford (and Ford Jr.) Driving School for kids of all ages. When you need a respite from the hustle and bustle, stroll through the historic Cypress Gardens botanical area—a horticultural masterpiece since 1939.

Seasonal special events return, too. While the popular PirateFest Weekends kicked off the 2022 events earlier this year, fans eagerly await the return of LEGO NINJAGO Days running every Saturday and Sunday from April 30 through May 22, 2022. Guests can “discover their inner ninja” through meet-and-greets with favorite heroes from the world of NINJAGO, ninja-themed activities, shows, photo opps, and special kid-friendly treats. Additional events slated throughout 2022 include an AWE-Summer celebration that will introduce brand-new LEGO characters, the bewitching Brick-or-Treat, and end-of-year favorites Holidays at LEGOLAND and Kids’ New Year’s Eve Party.

Looking to make your park day extra special (perhaps for a birthday celebration)? LEGOLAND offers some VIP experiences that might be worth shelling out some extra cash. Packages start at $300 per person, with the Red Brick VIP Experience including four hours with a VIP escort, priority access to rides and attractions, reserved seating at shows, exclusive tour of the model shop and more.

If you’ve got preschoolers, make a beeline to the new Peppa Pig Theme Park located just a hop, skip and a jump away from LEGOLAND. Based on the popular British animated series, the new five-acre, family-friendly park opened in February.

“Peppa Pig Theme Park is Florida’s newest theme park, and it’s been specifically designed for preschoolers,” explains spokesperson Kelly Hornick, Head of Marketing & Communications at Peppa Pig Theme Park & LEGOLAND Florida Resort. “The all-new park has a beautiful blend of exciting rides like Daddy Pig’s Roller Coaster and Peppa’s Balloon Ride and themed playscapes like George’s Fort and Muddy Puddles Splash Pad. For preschoolers, it’s an adventure just as big as they are!”

Guests can hop on six charming rides, including Peppa Pig’s Balloon Ride (an aerial carousel ride that takes kids to new heights) and Mr. Bull’s High Striker (a kid-friendly drop ride). On most of the rides, both kids and parents can ride together. Moms and dads will also appreciate the ample stroller parking and shaded areas.
“Daddy Pig’s Roller Coaster is the perfect ‘my first roller coaster,’ and we’ve seen tons of our littlest fans celebrate this oinktastic theme park milestone on this ride!” notes Hornick. “Grampy Rabbit’s Dinosaur Adventure is another fan favorite. Kiddos love that they can enjoy this ride with their grownups or choose to ride their own dinosaur by themselves when they’re tall enough.”

Interactive attractions, themed playscapes and live shows round out this new family-friendly destination. “Little piggies” can cool off in the Muddy Puddles Splash Pad and water play area, dig for buried treasure in Pirate Island, climb Peppa Pig’s Treehouse, play free carnival games at Fun Fair, and look for footprints along Madame Gazelle’s Nature Trail.
